DAY 1: FROM CUZCO TO PUNO BY COACH- On this full-day trip you will visit many
remote cultural centers then you will transit to the altiplano, or the high plains of the Andes
Mountains & end in Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. The well-equipped motorcoach has
multi-lingual hostesses, a restroom, & video entertainment for passengers. You'll make
various stops en route at the village of Anadahuaylillas, famous for its colonial chapel with
gorgeous creole frescoes, & Raqchi, where a 10 kilometer Inca wall surrounds the temple
of the god Wiracocha. After a buffet-style luncheon served at La Raya, you'll make
another stop to Pucara giving you the opportunity to explore the terraces, temples &
sunken patios from the Pucara culture, which flourished around 200 B.C.
DAY 2: FROM PUNO TO LA ISLA DEL SOL (SUN ISLAND)- Today commences a
truly fascinating 2-day crossing of Lake Titicaca into Bolivia. Begin your journey with a
motorcoach drive along the western shores of Lake Titicaca to Copacabana, where you'll
stop to visit the Shrine of the Island Virgin. Then you continue your trip with a cruise on the
lake to La Isla del Sol (Sun Island) which is the legendary birthplace of the Inca Empire.
You'll visit the  Pilcocaina Sun Temple before a 25 minute hike, ascending to the Posada del
Inca. LLamas will porter your luggage for you! Lunch, dinner, & an overnight stay on the Sun
Island  with magnificent views of the lake & the snow-caped Royal Range. (Cordillera Real)
DAY 3: ISLA DEL SOL (SUN ISLAND) TO THE CITY OF LA PAZ- Following
breakfast, you will descend to the harbor for a hydrofoil cruise to La Isla de La Luna
(Moon Island) to visit the Temple of the Sun Virgins. Then continue your cruise to Huatajata
which lies on the eastern shore of Lake Complex where you will witness a full size
reproduction of Thor Heyerdahl's Ra II & the mortuary towers known as chullpas from
several different periods in time. Late afternoon motorcoach to the busy city of La Paz.
DAY 4: LA PAZ CITY TOUR & TIAHUANACU RUINS TOUR- Enjoy an early morning
tour of the bustling city of La Paz, including a tour of both the traditional Indio Market &
the fascinating Witches' Market. Afterwadrs you will leave the city center for the suburb
area of Miraflores to come across the outdoor Tihuanacu Museum referred to as Museo
Subterraneo. Afterwards, visit the Valley of the Moon, where wind & water erosion have
created an eerie, lunar-like landscape. On  this very afternoon, you will then take a tour to
the ruins of Tihuanacu, an ancient, vast, & highly advanced civilization that flourished around
Lake Titicaca & the altiplano centuries before the Inca Empire.
